Mrs. Messiness:
– well, that would be me. Also: I was very pregnant in this picture, so any homicidal glint that you are detecting is totally (almost) gone now.
J.D.:
– my best friend and husband. I can’t imagine how boring life would be without him. I find myself grateful everyday that I married an intelligent and insightful man. He is romantic, thoughtful, caring and considerate. *Bonus: He’s totally hot.
Billy:
– My oldest son. Loves to draw and play games and think up new and exciting ways to make us cringe. Has recently decided that his name is “Will” and makes “fashion statements” that consist of wearing hoodies in the Texas heat, allowing his boxers to stick out the tops of his pants and wearing his shoes all untied and flopping around because “that’s what skaters do”. Lord help me. Also: That picture? That’s what he always looks like- mouth full and asking for more food.
Trevor:
– My husband’s oldest son/my step-son. Sways daily between wanting to be a ‘hobo’, a door-to-door salesman, or the President of the United States when he grows up. Most recently has decided that he will find out how one becomes a leprechaun and capitalize on the skill. Yes, that is a faux-hawk (only we now call it a ‘man-hawk’ because it is more, well, manly).
Veronica:
– My husband’s daughter/my step-daughter. Amazes me daily with a wit and sense of humor that she tends to offer like a gift – and only to those she deems deserving of it. Has decided she is going to find one profession where she can be a singer, painter, and veterinarian all at the same time. I suggested that she sing songs while helping animals and then paint pictures of them. This, I was told, does not constitute “all at the same time”.
Bella:
– My daughter. Loves to be the darling and does not appreciate anyone denying her the darling-ness she demands.
Jack:
- Our youngest boy. Born the day before Thanksgiving, 2008 – quickly growing into his role of the boy that will always be early for dinner.
The Goddess:
– The kids all call her Beenie – we don’t know why. She spends her time traveling between a magical land called “Alaska” and a green planet named “Washington”. We’ve been two pieces of the same crazy for longer than most of our kids have been alive. We have lived through 3 weddings (one with multiple gun wounds), 3 divorces (one was a do-over), 2 spur-of-the-moment cross-country road trips and multiple things-which-we-cannot-speak-of (statutes of limitations and such).
